Housing Prices Fall, Rents Rise
TRREB has released data showing that one-bedroom rental in Toronto has increased 20% year-over-year in the second quarter of 2022. Two-bedrooms increased 15.3% and three-bedrooms 12.8% in the same time. Listings over that time have declined 30%, which can explain the supply and demand economics of the increases.
At the same time, housing prices are falling, in what can only be considered a true paradox in the market. The Financial Times published an article on the subject, which can be read here.
