Canadians Increasingly Renting Rather Than Owning Homes

As the cost associated with owning a home rise (including interest rates), Canadians are turning to renting. The rental rate is now twice the pace of the increase in home ownership.

Another reason for the increase in renting is the high immigration levels in Canada. Currently 66.5% of Canadians own their homes, but the number is trending downward.
